Chloe Levy takes part as a soloist in contemporary and improvised music ensembles and projects. She also initiates her own projects for which she arranges and writes music. Chloe Levy studied jazz, classical singing and musicology in Lausanne and Geneva and obtained with honours a Master of Advanced Studies in vocal interpretation of contemporary music in the HEM of Lugano. She studied mainly with Susanne Abbuehl, Audrey Michael and Luisa Calstellani for singing, and with Pr. Lutz Lansemann for acting.
Chloe Levy recorded the CD “Leinicha” in duo with the pianist Yannick Délez at the Rainbow Studio in Oslo, the album was released by Unit Records (Telerama ƒƒƒƒ, Jazzman ****, Concerto *****). She created and composed « Deux cordes une voix » a piece for a singer, a dancer and a cellist on fragments of poems by Rainer Maria Rilke, with choreography by Kaori Ito. The piece was performed by Chloe Levy, Kaori Ito and Marcus Hagemann in Berlin, Geneva, Malmö, Grenoble and Paris (théâtre des Bouffes du Nord). She also initiated the project «Something else Hauls me through air» around Ned Rorem’s songs cycle Ariel, on poems by Sylvia Plath, with the pianist Ingvo Clauder and the clarinettist Philippe Ehinger. She worked with the Ensemble Contrechamps conducted by Michael Wendeberg and with William Blank and the Ensemble Namascae. She premiered the piece Nel Giro for two sopranos and Orchestra. She sang Hilda’s part in the Elegy for young lovers by Henze, conducted by Arturo Tamayo. She regularly performs with the cellist Marcus Hagemann. Chloe Levy is part of the ensemble Fecimeo with which she currently performs the Pierrot Lunaire by Schoenberg. In 2013 on the invitation of the Festival Audio Tangente Chloe Levy initiates a solo project which she develops and records. The album DUST is released by the label Unit Records in september 2014.
