Gaëlle Fabiani began her musical training in Nice, her hometown, and continued her studies at the Conservatoire National de Région (CNR) of Lyon with Augustin Lefebvre. In 2007, she entered the Haute École de Musique de Genève, where she studied with François Guye. She graduated with a Master of Arts in Musical Performance in 2011, followed by a Master’s degree in Pedagogy in 2013.
She is currently a cello professor at the Conservatoire Populaire de Musique de Genève and also teaches as part of the “Orchestre en Classe” project. She is frequently invited to serve as a jury member for examinations and competitions in Switzerland.
Alongside her teaching activities, chamber music plays a major role in her musical life. She takes part in numerous festivals, including “Jeux d’ensemble” in Lyon, “C’est pas classique” in Nice, the “Festival Archipel” in Geneva, and the “Concerts de Poche” series in the Paris region. She has been a member of the Camerata du Léman (string ensemble) since 2014. This ensemble performs regularly at many festivals such as “Musique en été” in Geneva, “Puplinge Classique,” “Les Athénéennes,” the “Festival de Compesières,” the “Fondation HEIM,” and the “Concerts de Lancy.”
With this same ensemble, she recorded an album released in March 2020 on the Pentatone label, which was awarded the Silver Medal at the Berliner International Music Competition.
